NES Classic Edition: The New Old Console

A few days ago, Nintendo announced that there would be a new console ready for this holiday season being the NES Classic Edition. The NES Classic Edition is, basically, just a cute, little, NES styled, plug and play console with thirty pre-installed NES games.

On top of the wired controller included with the console, a classic controller or classic controller pro may also be used with the console. If you don’t have a classic controller to give to your player two, don’t worry. Nintendo is also selling the NES controller separately for ten dollars. Better yet, this new NES controller can also be plugged into a Wii Remote, and be used to play virtual console games on your Wii or Wii U. The NES Classic Edition also has multiple save states and HDMI output.

This “new” console from Nintendo is set to release on November 11th at a retail price of $59.99. Included in the box is the NES Classic Console itself, an AC adapter, an HDMI cable and one NES style wired controller. I am definitely buying this thing day one!
