The Pokemon starters were released a while ago, but I never really had a chance to tell how I feel about them. So without further adieu, here are my thoughts on the Pokemon Sun and Moon starters.
Now the general consensus is that Rowlet is the favorite with Litten as runner up and Popplio far behind. Now at first Rowlet was my favorite as well, but after a while, Popplio has started to grow on me. (or should I say Popplio has starter-ed to grow on me) Right now, Popplio is my favorite with Rowlet not far behind. Litten, on the other hand, I never liked. I don’t really care for Litten’s design in the slightest, and I can’t really explain why. It just doesn’t really look very cool or even cute to me. It looks more like a generic Yo Kai Watch character in my opinion. I don’t think it’s a horrible pokemon design, but I wouldn’t say it’s a good one either. I’m glad lots of people like Litten, but me? I just don’t see the appeal.
Rowlet’s design is great with me loving the leaf bow tie and chubby body. There’s really no complaints. If Nintendo can just pull off some good second and final evolutions, I think we have a great pokemon starter on our hands, or on our 3DS’s more like it.
I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me wanting to be unique, but Popplio really is my favorite starter at this point. I love his giant nose and his little ears. Everything about him is so cool yet adorable. I like the whole circus seal thing they have going on. This kind of makes Popplio feel different than Seel and the other seal Pokemon. Overall, I like Popplio best, not to say that won’t change as time goes on. Honestly, I’m just waiting until we see the final evolutions before I commit to any one of the three starters. Even with my distaste for Litten, I’m sure they’ll all be great in the end. As for what I think of the legendaries? Lunala is awesome, and Solgaleo is meh.
